Chemical disinfection is the most widely used approach to treating water in industry and municipalities — valued for its simplicity, effectiveness and proven track record. At Enaqua, our specialism is Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂), a technology we helped introduce to the South African food and beverage sector as an alternative to traditional chlorine. ClO₂ is a powerful oxidising disinfectant that’s generated safely on-site, on demand, using our precision dosing and control equipment.

Ultraviolet (UV) light is a widely recognised, proven method of disinfecting water — and because it’s a physical treatment rather than a chemical one, it inactivates microorganisms without altering your water’s chemistry, taste or odour, and leaves no residual or by-products behind. Enaqua is the appointed distributor of Trojan-Aquafine UV equipment for the commercial and industrial markets across Sub-Saharan Africa, and we design UV into systems where chemical-free performance matters.

Our filtration systems cover the entire water process — from treating incoming supply through to wastewater and effluent recovery. The range runs from straightforward cartridge and bag filters all the way up to advanced reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration, with each system designed around your water and your goals.

Reverse osmosis is one of the most effective filtration processes available. By forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane, RO removes contaminants as small as 0.01 to 0.0001 microns — salts, bacteria, and harmful compounds like lead, iron and manganese — to produce ultra-pure permeate. Its success, though, depends entirely on the sophistication of the design and controls behind it.
