chlorine dioxide systems
Intelligent oxidation solutions for industrial disinfection
Enaqua designs, builds, commissions and supports iOX chlorine dioxide generation and dosing systems — engineered for reliable onsite generation, accurate dosing, residual control, remote monitoring and safe operation in demanding industrial environments.
why chlorine dioxide
A Powerful, Broad-Spectrum Biocide
Chlorine dioxide is a powerful oxidising agent with broad-spectrum efficacy against bacteria, fungi, algae, viruses and protozoa. Because of its chemistry, it is generated onsite or close to the point of use — making properly engineered generation systems the most efficient and practical way to apply ClO₂ to a process.
- Effective at low residual concentrations
- Strong performance across a broad pH range
- Excellent biofilm penetration
- Reduced corrosion compared with chlorine in many applications
- Suitable for process and product water disinfection
- Ideal for systems requiring measurable residual control
applications
Where Our Systems Work
Enaqua chlorine dioxide systems are used across a wide range of industrial applications:
- Food and beverage process water
- Poultry processing and final rinse disinfection
- Product water disinfection
- Cooling water treatment
- Industrial process water
- Municipal and utility water systems
- Water storage and distribution systems
- Biofilm control and microbiological risk reduction
system configurations
Batch or Inline — Configured to Your Process
Batch-Type Chlorine Dioxide Systems
Batch systems generate chlorine dioxide into a batch tank at high concentration, from where the solution is dosed to one or more application points. Well suited where multiple dosing points, different residual targets, varying dosing demand or a buffered ClO₂ solution are required.
Available capacities: 250 g/hr, 500 g/hr, 1,000 g/hr and 3,000 g/hr.
Inline-Type Chlorine Dioxide Systems
Inline systems generate and dose chlorine dioxide directly into a process water stream. Well suited where a single treatment point, flow-proportional dosing, residual monitoring and control, or a compact installation is required.
Available capacities: 20 g/hr, 250 g/hr, 500 g/hr and 1,000 g/hr.
Two-Chemical Generation
Two-chemical systems typically use sodium chlorite and hydrochloric acid, with concentrated or dilute precursor options in both batch and inline configurations.
Three-Chemical Generation
Three-chemical systems typically use sodium chlorite, sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid — generally selected for batch applications where improved batch solution stability is required.
